Go on a journey with a destination mug

Which part of South Africa would you love to daydream about while sipping your morning coffee? Le Creuset recently introduced their new 350ml stoneware destination mugs.
These colourful mugs come with iconic symbols that make the country unique. Best of all, your drink will stay hot (or cold).
The mugs are easy to clean and safe to put in the dishwasher. Go on a journey to Joburg, Durban, Cape Town or South Africa without leaving home.
Buy one at your nearest Le Creuset boutique stores or online for R379
Eco-friendly firelighters

South Africans love a good braai! If you use firelighters, how many packets do you buy every year? Imagine all that foil and plastic waste. Be a little kinder to our planet by purchasing reusable firefighters that you can use again and again.
Fire Brick Re-usable Firelighters are made from vermiculite, a heat-resistant substrate that burns longer than most firelighters. These firelighters are non-toxic and remain perfect after multiple uses.
Buy yours from Faithful to Nature.
Rack your meat for crispy fat
Love the fat on your steak to be crispy on the outside, yet still deliciously juicy? Dreem Fire sells a range of gadgets and goodies with the outdoor cook in mind.
Their unique braai racks balance your meat in a standing position, allowing you to braai your fat to perfection.
These quality racks are made from 3mm food-grade stainless steel with no joints or welding. They come in a variety of sizes, ranging from one to six slots.
The 4-slot T-bone rack costs R875. Get one from www.fire.dreem.co.za

Pizza and casseroles on the braai
While on the subject of the braai, how about a pizza or casserole on the braai? With the Ebony Steel Braven Portable Braai and Pizza Oven, you can make every day a braai day!
It is ideal for camping and home use. The design is easy to disassemble for extra portability and easy cleaning. You can cook pizza, oven bakes, fish, roasts, bread, and much more.
Buy yours from Loot for only R2 699 while stocks last.

Keep that flame alive for longer
Sometimes it is difficult to keep the fire alive, especially when your wood is wetter than anticipated. Perhaps the fire needs a bit of a boost before the romance fades and the family ditches the braai for takeaways.
Forget fanning with a paper plate, avoid getting smoke in your eyes, and invest in a Firehawk Bellow. These handcrafted goodies will be the talk of the gathering wherever you go as they are small enough to pack when travelling. Rope handle colours are customisable.
Buy yours from www.firehawkbellows.co.za for only R586.

Easy dessert recipe
Want a quick braai dessert? One of my go-to recipes for a quick sweet treat is bananas and chocolate. Cut slits into the banana skin with a knife and stuff it with blocks of dark chocolate.
Why dark chocolate? The banana sweetens as it cooks, so dark chocolate adds balance. Place it on the grid above the coals while enjoying your main meal. Your dessert will be ready when you are finished eating!
